Maple & Walnut Boards — engraved. Using our high-detailed laser engravers, your recipe is cut into the wood so the writing sits in the grain.

Care Instructions

Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry it straight away. No dishwasher, and don't leave it soaking. Oil it now and then with a food-safe board oil to keep the wood sealed. DO NOT cut on the engraved or printed area.

Is it engraved or printed?

Bamboo boards are printed. Maple and walnut boards are engraved.

 

Bamboo is a grass, not a hardwood, and its fibers are less consistent than maple or walnut. That can make engraving uneven, so we print our bamboo boards instead, using a premium UV printer. We use a premium UV printer to preserve your recipe, and you can feel the handwriting on the surface.

 

Either way, your recipe is preserved exactly as it was written. The only difference is how the writing is preserved on the board: printed on the surface for bamboo, cut into the wood for maple and walnut.

 

How do I send the recipe?

It's simple — just take a photo or scan of the recipe whenever you're ready. After you purchase, we'll email you an upload link, so you have nothing to worry about. Once we receive the photo or file, we begin carefully handcrafting your board — preserving every word, just the way it is written.

The card is faded, torn, or stained. Can you still use it?

Yes — and please don't let that stop you. However worn it is, we can still find the handwriting underneath and bring it back to life.

Will it really look like their handwriting, not just a font?

Yes. Every curve, every slant, every little quirk — it's still them. We're not replacing their handwriting, we're preserving it.

What if I don't have the original card, only a picture?

That's all we need. You never have to risk losing the original — it stays safe with you.

Can I mix and match recipe on it?

Yes. If there's a card with a few favorites on it, or two recipes you want side by side, just take pictures of them with your phone and upload them when you have them ready.

Is this dishwasher safe?

No. Hand washing is best. Dishwashers use high heat and harsh detergent, which can dull the detail on the board and dry out the wood. Don't leave it soaking either. To keep the handwriting looking its best, wash it gently by hand, dry it right away, and use mineral or cutting board oil to keep the wood sealed.
